A popular and beloved rising star in the Chicago hip-hop scene was shot and killed in the Second City’s upscale Gold Coast neighborhood on Tuesday.  Rapper FBG Duck, aka Carlton Weekly, was killed as part of a triple shooting yesterday.  Born on Chicago’s South Side, the 26-year-old died after being shot in the chest, groin and neck, according to police in Chicago.

The rapper died after being shot on the 100 block of East Oak Street, according to Yahoo! News.  In addition to FBG Duck’s death, two others were also shot in the melee.

Two vehicles pulled up in front of a store in the Gold Coast on Tuesday, and a pair of shooters emerged from each auto before opening fire on three victims, Chicago Police spokesperson Tom Ahern told the Daily News. ~ MSN

There were no arrests made in the triple shooting; but police said that they recovered one of the guns used in the shootings after the four suspects fled the scene.

FBG Duck reportedly had a recording contract with Sony imprint Columbia worth just under $2 million. He released his break-out single, “Slide,” in 2017 which cemented his standing in Chicago’s world of hip-hop.

Following the success of his 2018 single “Slide,” which received a 21 Savage remix, the rapper signed a record deal with Sony and released the Big Clout EP. “I ain’t gonna lie to you, I’m actually happy as hell,” he said in a 2018 interview with VladTV. “I’m proud of myself.” ~ Yahoo! News

According to MSN, FBG Duck was raised on the South Side of Chicago and rose with the Fly Boy Gang, the basis of the first three letters of his own moniker. His brother FBG Brick was fatally shot three summers ago.
