Arrest made in connection with missing mom Leila Cavett
A desperate search was launched after 21-year-old mom Leila Cavett mysteriously disappeared and her two-year-old son, Kamdyn, was found wandering alone in an apartment complex near the 1860 block of SW 68th Avenue in Miramar, Florida. Cavett was last seen on July 26 – only hours before Kamdyn was found outdoors and fending for himself.
Three weeks after Cavett was last seen, an arrest was made in connection with her disappearance.
Curtis Cavett, the father of 21-year-old Leila Cavett, said law enforcement had informed him that 38-year-old Shanon Ryan was arrested Saturday night.
According to Curtis, he was told that Ryan was the last person seen with Cavett at a RaceTrac gas station the night of her disappearance. ~ NBC News, Miami

According to the FBI, Cavett and her son left their Georgia residence for Florida on July 24. She was seen at the Vero Beach Cracker Barrel that same day. She later made her way further south and was last seen near a Walmart in Hollywood, Florida. Her car was found unattended in Hollywood on July 28.
Ryan hails from Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He’s a self-proclaimed witch – with a criminal record of burglary, selling drugs and prison time.
Ryan claims he met Cavett when she showed up at his house on a rainy night, filthy, pushing a similarly filthy baby carriage with goods, food and Kamdyn. After she told him a story Ryan said he didn’t believe about being abandoned, he said he took her and her son into his home. Despite helping Cavett get a car, Ryan said, she stole from him twice.

Meanwhile, the search for the missing mom is still ongoing. The FBI confirmed that Leila’s separation from her son is “out of character,” and that since being found, Kamdyn is being well cared for.
Leila is approximately 5’4″ tall and weighing about 120 pounds. Leila has her son’s name, “Kamdyn,” tattooed on her right inner arm and a “Jesus fish” tattooed on her right wrist. Leila was a visitor to our community, having arrived on July 25, 2020. Leila spent time in the areas of Hollywood, Miramar, and Ft. Lauderdale before her disappearance. ~ FBI
