A junior varsity boys’ basketball coach at Gooding High School in Gooding, Idaho, was arrested on Friday after being accused of having a sexual affair with one of her teen male students.  Ann Kuroki, 26, was taken into custody after police in Gooding received a tip about the affair. Kuroki is now looking at felony sexual battery charges, according to a January 7 report from Yahoo! News.

The tip police received stated that the student with whom Kuroki was involved is 16 or 17-years-old.  KMTV reported Gooding Police Chief Dave Fisher as saying that Kuroki has since been terminated from her coaching position at Gooding High. The high school would also be conducting an internal investigation into the accusations against the former coach.

According to her personal Facebook page, Kuroki states that she was previously employed as a nanny in Las Vegas and that she previously resided in Sunnyvale, California.  She is a 2015 graduate of Southern Virginia University where she played on the women’s varsity basketball team. She’s scheduled to be arraigned on her sexual battery charge today.

Heavy reported on January 7 that Kuroki was being held without bail at the Gooding County Jail on a charge of Felony Child Molestation. According to her Instagram account, which has now been changed to  private account status, Kuroki stated that she moved to Idaho from California to Idaho earlier in 2017.

“Moving here 6 months ago has been the most mentally challenging transition I’ve had to make coming from a completely different life/lifestyle in California. But the lessons I’ve learned and blessings I’ve received let me know that I’m right where I’m supposed to be; no matter how temporary. S/O to this this dime for being my biggest supporter and rock no homo. Love you long time,” she wrote in an Instagram caption, referencing an Idaho friend.

Depending upon the final classification of the sexual battery charge levied against her, Kuroki could be looking at up to 25 years behind bars if found guilty.
