Baltimore elementary school teacher arrested on child porn charges
On September 1, the Maryland State Police announced that their Computer Crimes Unit arrested a Harford County man, Lewis Blandon, on child pornography charges. The 38-year-old Blandon who resides in Edgewood, Maryland, was arrested on the evening of August 31 at the State Police Barrack in Bel Air. Police reported that Blandon is a teacher in Baltimore City.
Following his arrest, Blandon was transported to the Harford County Detention Center where he was seen by a court commissioner and later released after posting bond.
In December 2020, the FBI conducted an investigation into the possession of child pornography online. In coordination with the Maryland State Police, the investigation led to the identification of Blandon and his residence in Harford County.
On August 30, members of the FBI Baltimore Child Exploitation Task Force and the Maryland State Police served a search warrant at Blandon’s home in Edgewood. A preliminary forensic review of the his electronic devices revealed multiple child pornography files.
Police reported that Blandon was employed as a music teacher at Woodhome Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore City.
