Actress and singer Jane Powell died peacefully from natural causes at her Wilton, Connecticut, home on September 16.  She was 92.  Considered one of the megastars from the golden age of Hollywood, Powell is best known for her appearances in the golden age of Hollywood musicals like Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and dancing along with another golden age megastar, Fred Astaire, in the 1951 film Royal Wedding.

Powell was only 22 when she danced opposite Fred Astaire in Royal Wedding.  She was only 25 when she starred in the 1954 extravaganza Seven Brides for Seven Brothers with Howard Keel in a musical film named as one of the greatest American musicals of all time by the American Film Institute.

She was a great friend of the late Turner Classic Movies (TCM) Host Robert Osborne and was with Osborne in Times Square when TCM was launched as a network in 1994.
