A Florida man was arrested and charged with multiple counts of child pornography possession – and multiple counts of sexually abusing the family dog.  Yesterday, detectives with Florida’s Volusia Sheriff’s Office reported that Brandon Shelton, 29, of Ormond Beach was arrested and charged with 11 counts of possessing child pornography and six counts of sexual activity involving animals.

The Sheriff’s Office was alerted to his activities thanks to a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).  Shelton was taken into custody on Tuesday based on a warrant resulting from an investigation conducted by the VSO’s Child Exploitation Unit that began back in October 2021.

During the investigation, 11 electronic files of videos and photos were located that portrayed children in sexually exploitative situations. The victims were estimated to range in age from as young as two to three years old, to seven to nine years old. Shelton told detectives he had downloaded and forwarded suspected child pornography.

In addition, Shelton said he was the male subject wearing a gold watch in videos while having sexual contact with his wife’s dog.

It was just last month that detectives executed a search warrant at Shelton’s home and interviewed Shelton. They seized multiple items, electronics, his gold watch and two family dogs. The dogs were turned over to Volusia County Animal Services.

Detectives said that they do not believe Shelton manufactured child pornography.

He has since been released from the Volusia County Branch Jail on $116,000 bail.
