Yesterday, police in Tulsa, Oklahoma, described an assault that involved violence, meth and a PepperBlaster as “chaos at the Sonic” due to one irate customer and her order taking too long.  On April 9 at 10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Sonic Drive-In Restaurant at 5908 S. Lewis Avenue in Tulsa for a report regarding an assault with a weapon.

After initiating their investigation and speaking with witnesses on the scene, Officers learned that the incident started with a customer identified as Stacy Minihan, who was in her Ford Expedition at one of the stalls at Sonic where she was waiting for her food.  When the carhop delivered Minihan’s food, Minihan became very upset because the order took too long.

When the carhop tried to explain that the restaurant was short staffed, witnesses saw Minihan get out of the car, slap the tray of food out of the carhop’s hand, and then punch the carhop in the chest.

A Good Samaritan who was a witness to the assault attempted to get Minihan’s license plate, and followed Minihan when she drove away from the Sonic. Minihan then pulled over her car, got out, and shot that witness in the face with her Kimber Pepperblaster pepper ball gun. The victim was hit multiple times and bleeding from the head.

Minihan drove to a nearby Quiktrip where Officers caught up with her and placed her under arrest.  Police recovered the pepper ball gun (pictured), nearly 30 grams of meth that was in Minihan’s possession (pictured), and other drug paraphernalia.

Minihan was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapons
  • Assault & Battery
  • Trafficking Meth

Police went on to say that there was, “No word on what exactly was in that Sonic order or if any tater tots were injured.”
