On July 4 around 4:17 pm, patrol deputies responded to an apartment on Monument Circle in Abingdon for the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim, age 17, suffering from a stab wound outside the apartment building. Deputies rendered aid until medics arrived and transported the victim to Johns Hopkins Bayview for treatment of what was described as a non-life-threatening injury.

After an initial interview, Kamara was transported to the Harford County Detention Center, charged and subsequently held without bail.
