Crestview residents pulled over for speeding busted with meth, fentanyl, loaded gun

A traffic stop on the evening of October 3 for a speeding violation conducted by Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) deputies led to narcotics charges against two Crestview, Florida, residents. 

The passenger in the vehicle, 37-year-old Earnest Goodman, has been charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  The driver of the car, 26-year-old Amber Barrow, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The pair were in a car and exceeding the posted speed limit in the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and North Lloyd Street around 11 p.m. on Monday.  After the traffic stop, an OCSO K9 alerted to the odor of narcotics coming out of the vehicle.

Deputies found two digital scales and jewelers’ bags in a backpack, and a gram of fentanyl in a wooden box, which Barrow claimed possession of.

Meanwhile, while Goodman was getting out of the car, a plastic bag with approximately 23 grams of suspected methamphetamine fell onto the ground. Another ten grams was found in the rear right passenger side where Goodman had been sitting.

In addition, deputies found a loaded handgun with an extended magazine concealed in Goodman’s pants.
