Human remains found in Tallahassee woods believed to be missing Florida dad, missing since 2021

Yesterday, NBC News reported that the human remains discovered in the 2600 block of Apalachee Parkway in Tallahassee earlier this week are believed to be Jason Winoker, the Florida father of four who was reported missing over one year ago. According to the Tallahassee Police Department, Winoker was reported missing in August 2021 and was last seen not far from where his remains were found.
On October 17, police announced that Just before 3 p.m., a group of individuals discovered those remains in a heavily wooded area in the 2600 block of Apalachee Parkway and notified law enforcement.
Winoker, who was 52-years-old at the time of his disappearance, was last seen by family members in the early morning hours of August 17, 2021, according to a report filed with the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System.
His last known whereabouts were a hotel less than half a mile from where the human remains were found. ~ NBC News
In August 2021, Winoker, accompanied by his wife, drove to Tallahassee from their Tampa home to drop one of their kids off at Florida State University. The wife said that her husband woke up disoriented at around 1 a.m., grabbed his wallet and keys, and left their hotel room without his phone, according to WCTV. What happened next to Winoker remains a mystery.
