Baltimore cops still searching for man accused of shooting woman in face
Police in Baltimore tweeted that they are still actively looking for 23-year-old Demetrius Thompson, who is wanted for attempted murder after shooting a female downtown early Friday morning. On June 8 at approximately 6:03 a.m., Baltimore Police officers responded to Light Street for a report of a shooting. Once they arrived on the scene, officers located a female suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.
The woman was transported to an area hospital where she is currently listed in stable condition.
Police say that the woman was walking along the cross section of Light and Baltimore Streets when she was approached by Thompson, who produced a gun and shot her in the face. Thompson fled the scene on foot after the shooting and is still on the loose.
CBS News reported police as saying that they believe that the suspect and shooter knew each other, that this was a targeted shooting and that the shooting may be domestically related. Citywide Shooting detectives are asking anyone with information to contact them at 410-396-2221 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7lockup or dial 9-1-1.
