Massive gator (12’, 600 lbs.) wrangled outside Florida’s Coconut Point Mall (Video)
On December 22, Florida’s Lee County Sheriff’s Office posted a video, and a bad Dad Joke to their Facebook page, sharing the pun:
𝚆𝙷𝙰𝚃 𝙳𝙾 𝚈𝙾𝚄 𝙲𝙰𝙻𝙻 𝙰 𝙶𝙰𝚃𝙾𝚁 𝙸𝙽 𝙰 𝚅𝙴𝚂𝚃?……
𝗔𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥 !
Then they went to say that, in what could have a deadly encounter … “Just moments ago, Sergeant Toslluku, Deputy Cevertus, and Deputy Roedding were called to a 12 foot, SIX HUNDRED POUND gator at Coconut Point Mall !!! {yes, you read that right}. Our friends with MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife responded to the scene and in a joint effort, got this massive guy to safety!
There truly is never a dull moment while on patrol here in Lee County, eh? If you’re chompin’ at the bit to get into law enforcement, we promise excitement and a great workout here at #TeamLCSO
Coconut Point Mall is located in Estero, Florida; and those shopping in the area at the Southwest Florida mall got to witness the encounter between law enforcement and the monstrous prehistoric-looking creature as it went down. To put the size and weight of this particular creature into perspective, “the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission’s website said the state record for the length of an American alligator was a 14-foot, 3-and-a-half-inch male pulled from Lake Washington in Brevard County,” according to WPTV.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office also said that the massive gator would be transported to safer waterways where it would be set free.
