Florida drug dealer charged with manslaughter after selling fatal dose of fentanyl to Palm City woman
(Updated 2/27/2024) Early this morning, Florida’s Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) announced that following an intense investigation and after months of collecting facts and reviewing evidence by their  Special Investigations Section,  49- year-old Sean Bray of West Palm Beach in Palm Beach County was charged in the death of a woman to whom he supplied with the often fatal drug fentanyl.
Katherine Dumont, 40, of Palm City, died of a fentanyl overdose in May of 2023. MCSO Special Investigations Detectives were able to determine that the fentanyl that caused her death was sold to her by Bray. Earlier this week the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Bray in Palm Beach County on an open warrant for manslaughter.
This is the second drug dealer who has been charged by the Special Investigation Section with the death of an individual to whom theyt sold drugs.Family members say Katherine Dumont was battling substance abuse for years and tried multiple times to beat her addiction. Unfortunately, in May of 2023 Bray sold her the fentanyl that ultimately claimed her life.
Bray was taken to the Martin County Jail on $1,000,000 bond. For more on the investigation into Bray, see the video from WPTV News.
