Rapper Eminem, aka Slim Shady, has released 12 studio albums, two compilation albums, and one extended play. In 2008 he was the best-selling rapper of all time (The New York Sun) and in 2009 was the best-selling artist of the 2000s [The Universal Music Group] with U.S. album sales at over 32.25 million during the decade. And now, research shows which of Eminem’s albums have the most daily streams on Spotify, with The Death of Slim Shady taking the top spot.

Casino sweepstake comparison site Casinos Sweeps analyzed the number of Spotify streams each of Eminem’s albums have, as well as how many songs are in each album and how long they have been available on Spotify, to determine which ones have the highest number of streams per song per day.

Taking the top spot is The Death of Slim Shady, with each song being played 5,157,451 times per day on average. Released on July 12th, it is Eminem’s 12th studio album. The rapper revealed on social media that it is a “conceptual album,” and that “if the songs are listened to out of order, they might not make sense.” It tells the story of Eminem’s alter ego, calling out Gen Z, cancel culture, pronoun usage, and more in true Slim Shady style. It also contains many references and similarities to his older music, including many mentions of Christopher Reeve, who Eminem has now dissed 44 times in his career. This album took the music industry by storm, quickly becoming a favorite, with the most played song being Houdini

In second place is Kamikaze, with an average daily play count of 119,496 per song. A surprise drop in 2018, the album features Eminem’s unapologetic responses to his critics, addressing the backlash from his previous album, Revival. With its aggressive tone, Kamikaze provided an unfiltered commentary on the state of the music industry, taking aim at numerous mumble rappers and media personalities. The album received mixed reviews, but was praised for its raw energy, rapid-fire lyrics and complex wordplay, with the most played song being Venom. It now has the 6th highest all-time streams of any Eminem album.

Music to Be Murdered By ranks third, with 96,661 streams per song per day. Released in 2020, MTBMB drew inspiration from Alfred Hitchcock’s 1958 album of the same name, with elements of horror throughout. Collaborating with artists like Juice WRLD, Ed Sheeran, and Anderson ,Paak, the album’s tracks vary from reflective songs about personal struggles and addiction, to critiques of societal issues and the current state of hip hop. Like most of Eminem’s work, the album generated some controversy, particularly with tracks like Darkness, which delved into gun violence and the Las Vegas shooting. The track Godzilla, which broke the record for Eminem’s fastest rap verse, is the most played song. Later the same year, Eminem released Side B of the album, maintaining the same intensity and lyrical craftsmanship as Side A.

With 47,393 daily streams per song, The Marshall Mathers LP2 ranks sixth. Released in 2013, this album is a sequel to The Marshall Mathers LP, which came out in 2000. It balances emotional tracks that delve into his personal struggles, such as Legacy and Stronger Than I Was, with more energetic and confrontational songs, including the legendary Rap God. The album was highly praised, receiving multiple nominations and awards.

The first Marshall Mathers LPis next, with 43,706 average plays per song per day. This groundbreaking album cemented Eminem’s status as one of the most influential artists of his generation. It contains classics such as The Real Slim Shady and Stan, combining Eminem’s razor-sharp wit with his provocative storytelling skills. The album received widespread critical acclaim for its boldness and creativity, now having over four billion total Spotify streams.

Revival is eighth, with each song being played an average of 42,660 times each day. In this album, Eminem collaborated with artists such as Beyoncé and Alicia Keys, tackling social and political issues while reflecting on his own personal growth and struggles. While Revival received extremely mixed reviews from critics and fans, it showcased his lyrical prowess and willingness to take risks, gaining just under two billion total Spotify streams since its release.

In ninth place is Encore, with an average daily play count of 24,423 per song. Released in 2004, the album contains a wide variety of tracks, from Mosh and Like Toy Soldiers, which address personal and political issues, to more amusing ‘Slim Shady’ style songs such as Big Weenie and Just Lose It. Since its release, it has been played over three billion times in total. It received some criticism for its excessive humor, especially in tracks such as Ass Like That, however, it contains a lot of classics and remains a fan favorite.

Tenth is The Slim Shady LP, with 13,409 average plays per song per day. This was Eminem’s debut studio album, and the first to be produced by music legend Dr Dre. It was the first introduction of Eminem’s iconic alter ego, Slim Shady, delving into themes of violence, drug use, and societal alienation with a dark sense of humor. Tracks like My Name Is and Guilty Conscience showcased Eminem’s unapologetic, humorous lyricism, with the album receiving widespread critical acclaim for its boldness. It won Eminem his first Grammy, and remained at number one on the Billboard 200 for eight consecutive weeks.

A spokesperson from Casinos Sweeps has commented:

“It is fascinating to see which albums people are listening to the most on a daily basis. It is no surprise to see Eminem’s latest masterpiece, The Death of Slim Shady, at the top of the list, transporting fans back to his older style of music.  From the fearlessness and boldness of The Slim Shady LP to the raw and emotional tracks on Recovery, Eminem is a master in his craft, with each album taking his fans through the story of his life. His legacy truly is unmatched by any other hip hop artist today.”

“While Eminem has given us plenty of fantastic albums, fans can only hope for more to come in the future.”
