Yesterday, the New York Yankees announced the roster of former Yankees who will be on hand at the 76th Old-Timers’ Day presented by FreshDirect on Saturday, August 24, at Yankee Stadium. The event will commemorate the 15th anniversary of the 2009 World Series championship team. Those attending will include Hall of Famers Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera, first-time Old-Timer Alex Rodriguez and 2009 World Series MVP Hideki Matsui.

Old-Timers’ Day honorees will include nine Monument Park inductees, seven of whom have had their numbers retired by the Yankees − Hall of Famers Jeter (2), Rivera (42) and Joe Torre (6), franchise strikeout leader Andy Pettitte (46), five time All-Star Jorge Posada (20), franchise postseason home run leader Bernie Williams (51), 1994 AL batting champion and current YES Network broadcaster Paul O’Neill (21), five-time Yankees All-Star Willie Randolph and 1998 World Series Game 1 hero Tino Martinez.

Joining them will be current Yankees Manager Aaron Boone, 1998 ALCS MVP Orlando “El Duque” Hernández and 1978 one-game playoff hero and World Series MVP Bucky Dent.

Other members of the 2009 championship team taking part will include Manager Joe Girardi, CC Sabathia, Nick Swisher, Johnny Damon and A.J. Burnett. Additionally, former Yankees players and current YES Network broadcasters David Cone, John Flaherty and Jeff Nelson will attend.

The Yankees will also celebrate their history with the inclusion of the widows of three legendary Yankees — Diana Munson, widow of Thurman Munson; Kay Murcer, widow of Bobby Murcer; and Jill Martin, widow of Billy Martin.

Fans are asked to be in their seats by 12:00 p.m. for Old-Timers’ introductions, which will be read by Michael Kay. A live Q & A session with the players — led by Suzyn Waldman and Joe Girardi — will follow.  The YES Network will air both the Old-Timers’ Day ceremonies and the Yankees’ 2:05 p.m. game vs. the Colorado Rockies.
