On Sunday, October 13, Florida’s Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) Homicide Unit detectives made an arrest in connection to a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 28-year-old man in Lauderdale Lakes.  Shooting suspect Djay Ramawadm, age 32, of Pembroke Pines, surrendered to law enforcement officials yesterday for the October 12 shooting murder of 28-year-old Kevin Hasnali of Sunrise.

Around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Broward County Regional Communications received reports of a shooting in the 4300 block of North State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes. When BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to that location at 4301 North State Road 7, they discovered an adult male bleeding and suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the Oakland Shopping Center.

Paramedics transported the individual, identified as Kevin Hasnali, to the Broward Health Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units responded to investigate the circumstances regarding the incident.

On Sunday afternoon, Ramawad was arrested on charges of first-degree murder with a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Broward County Main Jail.

According to Local 10 News, Ramawad was also looking at an additional charge for violating restrictions placed on his driver’s license.

Records show last year, Seminole police arrested Ramawad for possession of marijuana and DUI and Hollywood police arrested him for DUI and violating restrictions placed on his driver’s license.  ~  Local 10 News
