NJ residents and State officials becoming increasingly wary of unidentified drones buzzing the night skies

The mysterious drone sightings over the Garden State have been causing quite a stir for everyday residents and local government officials. Since mid-November, clusters of unidentified drones have been spotted buzzing the night skies over New Jersey. Adding to the mystery, those unidentified drones have also been spotted over Pennsylvania and New York, according to USA Today. These drones, which are reportedly larger than those typically used by hobbyists, have been seen over military installations and sensitive sites, including President-elect Donald Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
And to date, no-one can say with certainty who owns the drones and where they’re coming from.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has temporarily banned drone flights over certain areas, such as the Picatinny Arsenal Army facility and Trump’s golf club, while authorities investigate the sightings. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has stated that the drone sightings are under investigation and has held briefings with federal officials, including Alejandro Mayorkas from the Department of Homeland Security.
Despite the current and ongoing investigations, authorities have yet to determine the origin or purpose of these drones. The FBI, which is leading the investigation, has asked residents to report any sightings and share videos or photos they may have captured, according to The Associated Press. Some officials have speculated that the drones could be from a foreign entity, like a recently spotted Iranian mothership; but the Pentagon has denied these claims.
The mystery has led to growing concerns among residents and local officials, who are demanding more transparency and action from federal agencies. New Jersey state Senator Jon Bramnick has called for a limited state of emergency banning all drones until the public receives an explanation for the sightings, according to MSN.
As the investigation continues, residents are left wondering about the potential risks and motives behind these mysterious drone flights. The lack of clear answers has only added to the frustration and uncertainty surrounding the situation.
