Texas mom drowns, decapitates 5-year-old son, stuffs his remains into trash bag; Dad makes gruesome discovery
A mother from Houston, Texas, has been arrested and charged with the horrific murder of her five-year-old son. Luhui Lui, 43, allegedly drowned her little boy, decapitated him and stuffed his severed head and body into a trash bag. The murder reportedly took place in the woman’s home bathroom as the bathtub and room were said to be covered with splattered blood.
Officers with the Houston Police Department responded to the woman’s home on Friday night after receiving a 7:00 p.m. call regarding a stabbing at the woman’s family home located in the 13000 block of the Holly Lynn neighborhood, according to The Houston Chronicle. Soon after entering the residence, police discovered the child’s lifeless body on the floor. The remains were partially covered by a plastic garbage bag. It was the boy’s father who initially found his murdered son in the garage and called the police.
The boy’s father later told cops he came home from work and Liu told him she sent their son away. After he started looking for the boy, his wife allegedly admitted the child was in the trash can …

The boy’s mother confessed to police that she had drowned her son. The woman would not share any details with the police regarding why she felt it necessary to decapitate the child. Police are not sharing any further details regarding the murder nor are they sharing a motive for the child’s murder.
Liu was taken into custody and charged with her son’s capital murder.  She was being held in a Harris County jail facility without bail, according to The Dallas News.
Child Protective Services confirmed they’d interacted with the family back in 2015, though the children were never in state custody. It’s not clear why CPS was involved with the west Houston family to begin with, or how that involvement ended.
Liu is expected back in court today.
