
Pinellas Co. mom charged with violent murder of her three-month old daughter

(March 6, 2025) Earlier today, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office announced the horrific news that detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit arrested an Oldsmar woman identified as 26-year-old Tess Britt on a charge of Murder in the First Degree. According to the Sheriff’s Office, on December 13, 2024, deputies responded to 3580 Meriden Avenue in Oldsmar, Florida, for a report of an unresponsive three-month-old.
Paramedics also responded to the scene, and transported the child to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Detectives learned the child suffered from multiple brain bleeds and a large skull fracture. The Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death to be blunt head trauma. Throughout the investigation, detectives learned the child was in the care of her mother, Tess Britt, on the day the injuries occurred.
Today, March 6, 2025, detectives arrested Britt and charged her with Murder in the First Degree. She was taken to the Pinellas County Jail.
The Sheriff’s Office also said that their investigation into this tragic death remains active.
