Florida man charged with attempted murder after firing live round into car full of people

(March 7, 2025) Yesterday, Florida’s Indian River County Sheriff’s Office (IRCSO) announced that on Wednesday, deputies responded to a disturbance that almost turned deadly when Anthony David McDaniel pulled a gun and fired it into a car full of people. McDaniel barely missed shooting one of those people as the bullet struck the vehicle, according to officials.

After victims identified him to local law enforcement, deputies moved in on his home where they successfully took McDaniel into custody. McDaniel is now looking at charges of attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle and several counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. He is currently being held in the Indian River County Jail.
