
Arrest made in March 6 Yale Avenue shooting murder

(March 9, 2025) On Friday, police in Baltimore City’s Southwest District announced the arrest of 27-year-old Matthew Crawley of Baltimore in connection with a shooting murder that took place on March 6. Patrol officers arrested Crawley shortly after the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Taijah Addison in the 700 block of Yale Avenue.
Background: On March 6, 2025, at approximately 12:55 p.m., Southwest District patrol officers responded to the 700 block of Yale Avenue to investigate a reported shooting incident.
Upon arrival, officers located Addison seated inside the vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced deceased by medics at the scene.
Police took Crawley into custody in the 500 block of Yale Avenue after reviewing surveillance video. Investigators then transported Crawley to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with first-degree murder.
