On January 9, the Broward Sheriff’s Office shared word that their detectives are searching for a man they describe as a “dangerous felon.” That felon is currently a fugitive and can be seen on surveillance video firing several shots at a man and woman on the evening of January 4 near the 2500 block of 5th Street as the couple stood outside of a Pompano Beach, Florida, home.

Officials said that at approximately 5:45 p.m. this past Friday, surveillance video captured the moment when QuanTez Rodney Baker slowly drove a gray Mercedes GL350 SUV past a Pompano Beach home and fired multiple shots at a couple standing in the front yard. In the video, bullets strike the home’s exterior walls.

Immediately after the shooting, the car sped from the scene. Fortunately, neither of the victims were injured.

Detectives believe the motive for the shooting may have escalated from an argument over money.

Baker is a convicted felon who is currently on probation for charges relating to grand theft of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and resisting arrest.

Baker is currently wanted for attempted murder, aggravated assault with a firearm and shooting a missile into a dwelling.

Anyone with information can contact BSO Det. Timothy Metz at 954-321-4213.
