Bodies found in Oregon identified as missing mom Karissa Fretwell and 3-year-old son Billy Fretwell
Karissa Alyn Fretwell, 25, and her three-year-old son William (Billy) Fretwell, hadn’t been seen since May 13. An official missing persons’ report was filed on May 17 with Oregon’s Salem Police Department by Karissa’s family. Last week, Karissa’s husband and Billy’s father, Michael Wolfe, 52, was indicted on murder and kidnapping charges.
Sadly, two bodies found in a remote location 10 miles west of Yamhill in northwestern Oregon were identified as belonging to the missing mother and her young son, according to a June 16 report from NBC News. Officials reported the state medical examiner as finding the mom had been killed by a single gunshot wound to her head. Officials have not yet released the official cause of death for young Billy.
The Daily Beast reported today that the father has been charged with aggravated murder and kidnapping in connection with those two murders and that he and his wife were engaged in a dispute centering around Billy’s financial child support, prior to Billy and his mom being reported missing.
Cellphone data placed Fretwell’s phone near Wolfe’s around the time of her disappearance, and video surveillance disputed Wolfe’s claim that he was at work during that time. He has denied any involvement.
