Lorie Harvey: Steve Harvey’s stepdaughter looking at year in prison following hit-and-run
(Updated: 08/25/2021) Lori Harvey, the 23-year-old stepdaughter of comedian and TV’s “Family Feud” game show host, Steve Harvey, was arrested in October 2019, following her involvement in a vehicular hit-and-run accident on Moreno Drive in Los Angeles. Police in Beverly Hills said that the young model smashed into a parked car but then fled the scene. Police received a call about the hit-and-run around 9:48 p.m. on Sunday, October 19.
Harvey, 22-years-old at the time of the accident, was arrested the following day.
After authorities arrived on the scene, they quickly determined the hit-and-run driver to be Lori Harvey, who had had fled the scene of the accident. When police caught up with her, she was issued a citation for the hit-and-run and had a January 2020 court date set.
“Harvey left the scene of the collision without providing her information or contacting police as required by law, and caused a delay in the police investigation,” Lt. Elisabeth Albanese said in a statement. ~ NBC News
Since her arrest, Harvey was charged with two misdemeanors which boiled down to one count of resisting, delaying, obstructing a peace officer and one count of hit and run resulting in property damage, according to MSN.
Harvey will be back in court on January 21 to face those misdemeanor charges. If found guilty on both, she could be looking at a year behind bars. There were no injuries reported as a result of the hit-and-run.
Harvey had returned from a weekend in Jamaica with current love interest, Future, just in time to face her hit-and-run charges.
In a now-deleted Instagram Story, the 36-year-old rapper [Future] was seen kissing Lori on the cheek, People magazine reported. Lori captioned the video, “Life is good,” along with a diamond emoji. ~ Fox News
Harvey was previously romantically linked to 49-year-old rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs. A source close to Diddy said that the rapper enjoyed his time with Harvey, but that he wasn’t looking for a committed relationship when the two were together.
“Him and Lori had a fun fling but Diddy is still healing and focusing on himself right now,” the insider said. “He is not ready to be in a long-term committed relationship and is focusing on his kids right now.” ~ MSN
(08/25/2021 Update)Â After it was all said and done, according to TMZ, Lori went to court and skipped going straight to jail after agreeing to a plea deal.Â
Back in November [2020,] the entertainment magazine reported that she, “… cut a deal with prosecutors … in which she pled no contest to one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.Â
In exchange, we’re told Lori was sentenced to 2 years of probation.“
