May 16 Update:    When actor Logan Williams suddenly passed away on April 2 at the tender age of 16, there was no explanation or cause of death released for the child actor that many came to know from his roles on hit shows like “Supernatural” and “The Flash.”  But in an interview this week, Logan’s mom, Marlyse Williams, revealed that her son’s death was due to overdosing on fentanyl.

She added her son had battled with his opioid addiction for three years before his death, and now she hopes to raise awareness about the epidemic.

Upon learning of his passing, Williams’ colleagues took to social media to share their condolences.  Grant Gustin, who stars as Barry Allen on “The Flash,” shared a photo of he and Williams on Instagram yesterday.

I was so impressed by not only Logan’s talent but his professionalism on set,” Gustin wrote in his caption. “My thoughts and prayers will be with him and his family during what is I’m sure an unimaginably difficult time for them.”

John Wesley Shipp, who appeared on the current TV “The Flash” show as Barry Allen’s father and who also played a different version of The Flash from alternate worlds, shared his condolences on Twitter.  Shipp also portrayed Barry Allen as The Flash on CBS’ version of the superhero back in the 90s.

“Heartsick to learn of Logan Williams’ death at 16,” Shipp wrote. “He was 100% committed to playing young Barry Allen, and we missed him once we moved past that part of the story.”
