Actor Dax Shepard requires surgery after getting busted up in motorcycle accident
The last few months have proven to be physically daunting for actor Dax Shepard, who is going to require surgery after surviving a serious motorcycle accident on the Sonoma Raceway in Northern California earlier this week during a taping for his podcast Armchair Expert. While actress Kristen Bell’s husband was “passing six guys on Sonoma Raceway on a motorcycle and braking very, very hard,” Shepard ended up clipping another rider’s bumper and flew up off his bike and over the handlebars, landing hard on the track, according to Hollywood.com.
Shepard iced his injuries and tried to get back on the track – but didn’t last long. After spending the next seven hours in the Emergency Room, he informed the media that . . .
“The final tally was four broken ribs, clavicle’s broken in three places, and I need surgery,” he revealed.
“And then I broke my hand that I’d broke a couple months ago. But good news, I had broke three of those (fingers)…, and those held up…! (But) my pinkie… broke (sic).”
The 45-year-old actor crushed his left hand this spring while on an off-roading adventure. Regarding this latest accident, he said that he accepts full responsibility and that he was totally to blame.
Once he got home, Shepard took to Instagram to show his bruised bod – with his wife visibly present in the background, “Thank you Armcherries for all the well wishes and concern. I’m in one piece and spirits are high 🙂 Sorry for causing concern. “
After funny lady Whitney Cummings asked about the expression on Bell’s face in the pic above, Kristin replied: “just politely shaking my head at his nonsense…”
Entertainment Weekly reported Shepard as saying that he wasn’t going to quit riding – but, he might be willing to quit for the remainder of 2020.
Shepard and Bell have two daughters together, Lincoln, seven years old, and Delta, five.
