Ordered to physically appear in a Massachusetts courtroom to face a felony sexual assault charge, actor Kevin Spacey did appear today for that arraignment.  Spacey’s attorney entered a not guilty plea on behalf of his infamous client.  Spacey will not have to physically be present for his next court date in this case which is scheduled for March 4; but he must be available by phone if needed, according to UPI.

The former “House of Cards” star has been accused of a 2016 sex crime wherein he allegedly groped an 18-year-old man in a Nantucket saloon.  Spacey’s arraignment today only lasted 10 minutes.  Nantucket District Court Judge Thomas Barrett ordered the 59-year-old actor to not have any contact with his accuser in this case, according to CBS News.

The accuser’s mother, former Boston news anchor Heather Unruh, first brought the accusation in November 2017 during an emotional press conference. She fought back tears describing how her son met Spacey when they were at a bar on Nantucket island in July 2016. She said Spacey bought her son alcohol, got him drunk and sexually assaulted him.

Reportedly, his accuser has video evidence of the sexual assault and has provided that video to the authorities.

Spacey has been staying out of the public spotlight after at least 12 men, five of whom were minors at the time, came forward last fall to allege he sexually harassed, groped, assaulted or attempted to rape them. Not too long after those accusations came to light, Spacey was fired from his lucrative Netflix gig starring as the treacherous U.S. President, Frank Underwood.

In a video entitled “Let Me be Frank,” Spacey’s recent foray back into the public eye following his self-imposed retirement from the spotlight, occurred when he released an offbeat and confusing Christmas Eve video where he seemed to appear as his “House of Cards” character Frank Underwood.  In that video, Spacey – as Underwood – can be heard saying “I’m certainly not going to pay the price for the thing I didn’t do.”

“I told you my deepest, darkest secrets. I showed you exactly what people are capable of. I shocked you with my honesty, but mostly I challenged you and made you think,” Spacey as Underwood said in the video.

We also learned recently that Spacey has been hiding out in a multi-million-dollar waterfront townhouse in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor area where he was seen chatting it up with a Domino’s Pizza delivery man who was handing off a medium-sized pizza to the beleaguered actor. Paparazzi were also on the scene.

In the clip, you hear Spacey tell the pap he appreciates what he’s doing … and goes on to wish him a happy new year and tells him to stay warm. Another camera guy follows him back to his car and asks if he’ll be appearing in court himself, but Spacey’s mum.  ~ per TMZ

If found guilty on his felony sexual assault charge, Spacey could serve up to five years behind bars.  He’s also embroiled in a few other sexual assault investigations, one which includes a 14-year-old boy.
