Actress who appeared in ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ charged with her mom’s stabbing death
Mollie Fitzgerald, a 38-year-old actress who is best known for a minor role in the now classic film “Captain America: The First Avenger,” was arrested on New Year’s Eve in Olathe, Kansas, and has been charged with stabbing her mother to death. In that prelude film which set the stage for all of Marvel’s Avenger films to follow, Fitzgerald played the role of “Stark Girl.” In addition to her small role in that film, Fox News reports that she also served as an assistant to the film’s director during the making of that movie.
Police in Olathe said that they discovered 68-year-old Patricia “Tee” Fitzgerald’s deceased body in her home on December 20. The mom had been living in the greater Houston area but was in the process of moving to Kansas City. Her brother, Gary Hunziker, 72, told the media that he couldn’t supply any details regarding his death.
“We were shocked,” he said. But, “it doesn’t matter the circumstances — the loss of a sister is what it’s all about.”
Regarding her contributions to “Captain America: The First Avenger,” back in 2011 the actress was quoted as saying that, “Being a part of this production has been one of the best experiences of my life.”
Police said that the mother died from an apparent stabbing.
Cops say they responded to a call of an armed disturbance, and Mollie was contacted on the scene and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Police say the case remains under investigation, but have not provided additional details yet. ~ TMZ
According to IMBd, Mollie Fitzgerald produced “The Creeps” in 2017, appeared in the 2018 film “Trouble Is My Business” and wrote and directed the 2014 thriller “The Lawful Truth” and the 2011 comedy “Absurd Illusions.”
Fitzgerald is being charged with second-degree murder in her mother’s death and is being held on a $500,000 bond. She’s scheduled to appear in court today for her arraignment.
