Tragic news coming out of Fort Pierce, Florida, when yesterday afternoon (January 12) we received word that the St. Lucie Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit and U.S. Coast Guard recovered the body of a white adult male from the Fort Pierce Inlet waters near Jetty Park – in the same general area that missing boater 50-year-old Brian Ronshausen was last seen launching his Skiff from the Stan Blum boat ramp on January 9 around 11 p.m.

Later in the evening yesterday, at 7:45 p.m. we received another update from the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office (SLCSO) that the recovered remains had been positively identified as being Brian’s.

After a nearly week-long search, the Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit and U.S. Coast Guard recovered the body of 50-year-old Brian Ronshausen this afternoon from the Fort Pierce Inlet near Jetty Park. We appreciate the collaborative efforts of the search and rescue teams involved in this search. Sheriff Pearson and the men and women of the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office extend our heartfelt condolences to Brian’s family and friends during this difficult time. ~ SLCSO
