After last January 6 hearing, irate Trump calls Mitch McConnel a ‘disloyal sleaze bag!’
Reportedly, former president Donald Trump hasn’t been transfixed to the tube for all eight televised U.S. House Select Committee Hearings investigating the January 6 Capitol riot, as most of them were being televised during the day when he’d prefer to be golfing; but we do know he watched the last one. As Fox News hasn’t been carrying the hearings at all, it’s a safe bet that Trump had to be watching Thursday’s hearing on CNN or on one of the major networks – none of which have been showing the ex- president in a positive light regarding his involvement in the insurrection.
On Thursday evening, the televised House Committee hearings concluded with a prime-time television grand finale and the last of the House’s planned summertime hearings.
The July 21 televised hearing “focused on the more than 3 hours between when former President Donald Trump’s Ellipse speech on Jan. 6 ended and when his prerecorded video asking protesters to go home posted to Twitter later that afternoon, ” according to NPR. The hearing also served to summarize the preceding seven hearings in the House’s case against the ex-president.
One of the many key moments from Thursday’s hearing was a video clip presented shortly after the January 6 riots of Mitch McConnell on the Senate floor denouncing Trumps’ actions, and inactions, regarding Trump’s mishandling of the insurrection. McConnell also denounced the actions of the Trump supporters who attacked and breached the Capitol building.
“The mob was fed lies,” McConnell said. “They were provoked by the president and other powerful people, and they tried to use fear and violence to stop a specific proceeding of the first branch of the federal government, which they did not like.”

Trump was watching the July 21 hearing and took note of the video clip presented by the House Select Committee of his buddy Mitch McConnell trashing the then-president for provoking the January 6 violence and instigating the riot on the Capitol. Trump lost his cool and went on social media calling McConnell a “disloyal sleaze bag!”
Trump appeared to lose his temper after the Jan. 6 committee played a clip of McConnell’s speech on the Senate floor during Trump’s second impeachment trial in which he blamed the former president for inciting the attack on the U.S. Capitol. ~ Yahoo! News
Two days after the January 6 riots, Trump was permanently suspended from posting to Twitter and is now relegated mostly to posting to his own social media platform, Truth Social, where following the last House hearing he wrote:
“Is this the same Mitch McConnell who was losing big in Kentucky, and came to the White House to BEG me for an Endorsement and help? Without me he would have lost in a landslide. A disloyal sleaze bag!”
Prior to calling McConnel a” disloyal sleaze bag,” Trump wrote, “I had an election Rigged and Stolen from me, and our Country. The USA is going to Hell. Am I supposed to be happy?”
