Aldrick Rosas cut from New York Giants after DUI arrest
Aldrick Rosas is once again a free agent now that the 25-year-old kicker has been cut from the New York Giants. The Giants had stuck with Rosas even when he was arrested and charged with a DUI leading up to the 2016 draft before the team signed him in 2017. But his most recent DUI occurring earlier this summer was too much for management and the team just felt like they had to let him go.
Rosas’ latest DUI which went down in Chico, California, was also complicated by being a hit-and-run.

Rosas confirmed being cut by the Giants on Instagram as he bid a fond farewell to his fans.
California authorities say that Rosas was going 100 mph when he t-boned another car in June, and they believe that he may have been intoxicated at the time of the accident. Per the police report, Rosas was driving erratically before he blew through a red light and smashed into the side of a pickup truck. Then, cops say he continued driving, stopped only when his SUV broke down, and took off running. When police arrived on the scene, they found Rosas walking nearby with his legs and bare feet covered in blood. ~ MSN
Rosas will be forfeiting his $3.2 million offer with New York as a result of being cut from the team.
To replace Rosas, the Giants will be signing Chandler Catanzaro who retired from the New York Jets in 2019 due to sheer embarrassment after missing some extra points in a pre-season game against the Giants.
Catanzaro spent his first three seasons in the NFL with the Cardinals and went on to play with the Panthers, Buccaneers and Jets respectively.
