Alleged pimp known as ‘Lavish’ looking at life behind bars for forced sex trafficking
On June 9, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Texas announced that a 46-year-old man from Houston was arrested on charges of sex trafficking and is looking at the possibility of life behind bars if convicted. On June 8, a federal grand jury returned an eight-count indictment against the alleged pimp identified as Larry Odell Lewis.
Lewis, aka “Lavish,” reportedly used force, fraud and coercion to cause four adult women to engage in commercial sex. The indictment against him states that some of the acts occurred on the Bissonnet Track, an area of Houston known to be plagued by prostitution and prostitution-related crimes.
He also coerced the women to commit similar acts across state lines, according to the charges. In addition to facing the possibility of life in prison, Lewis is also looking at a possible $250,000 maximum fine if convicted.
The Department of Public Safety and Texas’ Harris County District Attorney’s Office conducted the investigation with assistance from the FBI as part of the Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance (HTRA).
