On June 14 at approximately 6:35 a.m., a small grey and white Maltese dog was left abandoned and locked inside a dog crate at the Mobil gas station located at 1554 Palm Beach lakes Boulevard in West Palm Beach, Florida. The person responsible for abandoning the dog was captured on store surveillance cameras inside and outside the store; and law enforcement is sharing pictures of the man as well as the abandoned animal in the hopes of identifying the man who left the dog behind.

The dog is currently being cared for and kept at Barky Pines Animal Rescue (561) 402-1451.  Barky Pines Animal Rescue & Sanctuary is a non-profit, no kill, rescue shelter located in Loxahatchee.

Based solely on the appearance of the animal depicted in police photos, the Maltese appears to have been neglected.  Anyone with information on the identity of the man who abandoned the dog is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
