Arrest made in brutal murder of Mason Moldoven following high-speed chase in Georgia
Yesterday, the Baltimore Police Department reported that an arrest was made in the murder of 28-year old Mason Moldoven. On September 3, Moldoven’s lifeless body was discovered behind her home in the 1100 block of Gorsuch Avenue in Baltimore’s Better Waverly neighborhood. She had been stabbed to death and her body stuffed into a plastic bag, according to WBAL-TV.
During the course of their investigation, Baltimore homicide detectives identified 26-year old Timothy Callanan as the suspect in this case. An arrest warrant was issued charging Callanan with murder.
On September 12, deputies from the McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office arrested Callanan after a high-speed pursuit on Highway 95 in Georgia. Members of the Baltimore Police Warrant Apprehension Taskforce and the U.S. Marshals Service assisted with tracking Callanan to Georgia.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Callanan initially ran a stop sign, leading to the chase involving Darien, Ga., police officers and McIntosh County Sheriff’s deputies. Callanan wrecked his car in nearby Liberty County.

At her September 8 funeral, Rabbi Daniel Cotzin Burg described Mason as “a beautiful life, a beautiful person. Twenty-eight years is not enough. … She loved life and she loved people. She didn’t see the bad in people.”
Moldoven’s family requested that memorial contributions be sent to Mission: Wolf, P.O. Box 1211, Westcliffe, Col., 81252, or https://missionwolf.org/ .
