Arrest made in years’ old shooting murder of autistic Ocala teen (Video)

It took more than a year, but an arrest has been was made in the January 27, 2022, shooting death of 19-year-old Ferron Williams. The Ocala, Florida, murder victim was autistic and appears to have been randomly selected in that fatal shooting.
On March 31, 2023, Police in Ocala arrested 20-year-old Geremy Doel Navarro for the first-degree murder of Ferron Williams. On the night of the murder, Williams was sitting on the front porch of a friend’s home where he could access the free public Wi-Fi provided by a nearby Hardee’s restaurant in the 900 block of NW 6th Avenue in Ocala. While sitting on the porch, he was struck by gunfire that came from the street.

When Ocala Police Officers arrived on the scene, “they found Williams on NW 10th St. with multiple gunshot wounds,” according to CBS-12 News. Williams was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his gunshot wounds. Investigators have said that Williams had no criminal history and appears to have been a completely innocent murder vitim.
On March 31, Navarro was booked into the Marion County Jail on a charge of first-degree premeditated murder. He’s being held there on no bond, according to WPTV.
On the Ocala Police Department Facebook page, Chief Mike Balken posted:
“I want to commend the tireless dedication of our detectives who have worked diligently for the past 14 months to bring closure to the heinous murder of 19-year-old Ferron Williams. Their persistence in this investigation has led to the arrest of Geremy Navarro and I am proud to say that justice will finally be served.”
You can also see the police video of Navarro being taken into custody on the Ocala Police Department’s Facebook page, where Navarro can be seen smiling while being placed in the back of the patrol car, according to Fox 35 in Orlando.
