Austin PD Officers descend on children’s hospital in full superhero gear (Video)
Yesterday, the Austin Police Department (APD) partnered with the Ascension Seton and Wells Fargo to host the fifth annual Superhero Day at the Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas.
The goal of the event was to provide a fun-filled day for the hospital patients by giving them the opportunity to interact with APD officers dressed as superheroes.
Officials at Dell Children’s Medical Center said that their Superhero Day was a huge success.
APD officers in superhero garb were joined by the Medical Center’s very own resident superhero in the guise of Dr. Joseph Tayar, who rappelled down the building with the other heroes.
After trying to spoil the fun, The Penguin and Killmonger were arrested by the Super Heroes. They saved the day and returned all the toys back to the children!
Thank you to the APD and all of the amazing volunteers who made Super Hero Day truly super!
In addition to being able to contact costumed superheroes annually, the Dell Children’s Medical Center is the only dedicated freestanding pediatric facility in the Central Texas region. It’s also the only Pediatric Level I Trauma Center in Central Texas and one of only five in all of Texas.
