Baltimore cops seek public’s help identifying witnesses and suspects in teen girl’s shooting murder
Earlier this morning, the Baltimore Police Department reached out to its citizens asking for help regarding the shooting death of 15-year-old Ja’Nyi Weeden that occurred on August 10 in the 3700 block of Gelston Drive in Baltimore City. Homicide detectives need help identifying any suspects involved in that fatal shooting. The police also need any information that any witnesses to the shooting can provide.
Officers were already in the general area and on patrol around 1 a.m. when they heard a gunshot on Gelston Drive and proceeded to the 3700 block where they discovered the teen suffering from an apparent bullet wound to her head. Ja’Nyi was in critical condition and later died from her injury.
Detectives know that there were at least 15 people at that location when the shooting occurred. ~ WBAL-TV
All of those people that were in the vicinity at the time of the shooting had fled the scene after Ja’Nyi was shot. None of those 15 people were available for questioning by the time police arrived on the scene.
