Baltimore dad charged with murdering two-month-old daughter
On Monday, the Baltimore Police Department reported arresting 33-year-old Darius Williams who is the father of a two-month-old baby girl that was found dead in their home. On May 15 at approximately 8:50 a.m., police received a 911 call from a family member regarding that unresponsive baby girl.
When police arrived at the residence located in the first block of South Monastery Avenue in West Baltimore, medics pronounced two-month-old Zorii Pitts deceased. Homicide detectives were called to the scene and assumed control of the investigation into the baby girl’s death.
The child’s body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s office where an autopsy was performed and where her death was ruled a homicide caused by blunt force trauma to the head. On May 17, Baltimore police arrested Darius Williams for the death of his infant daughter.
Williams was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility in Baltimore City where he was charged with first-degree murder and first- and second-degree child abuse. Williams will be held without bail.
