Baltimore Ravens go up against Jacksonville Jaguars in London’s Wembley Stadium
On Sunday, September 24, the Baltimore Ravens will meet the Jacksonville Jaguars in London’s Wembley Stadium as part of the NFL’s International Series which has been playing ball in England beginning in 2007. The Ravens are currently 2 – 0 with wins against the Browns and Bengals in their first two games of play. Jaguars have a 1 – 1 season so far with a win against the Texans and a loss to the Titans. Today will mark the fifth London appearance for the Jags but only the first trip across the pond for Baltimore.
Some sports writers are questioning whether the Ravens will up to the task today considering some significant injuries of late, especially the recent loss of guard Marshal Yanda for the season. During last week’s game against the Browns, Yanda suffered a fractured ankle and is out for the season. Defensive tackle Brandon Williams was also injured in the Brown’s game, and did not travel to London with his team, according to Big Cat Country. The loss of both Yanda and Williams have negative impacts on the Ravens’ offense and defense plays. WBAL shared some additional Ravens’ injuries: “Running back Terrance West (calf) and wide receivers Chris Matthews (ankle) and Michael Campanaro (ankle) are all listed as questionable, though all were full participants in Friday’s workouts.”
Even with the loss of Yanda seriously impacting the Ravens’ running game, Baltimore is a three-point favorite over Jacksonville in today’s matchup, according to Heavy. With a 9:30 a.m. kickoff, tailgating got underway this morning in the Wembley Stadium parking lot around 7:00 a.m. Heavy predicts a win for the Ravens today with a final score of Baltimore 23, Jaguars 6.
