Maryland State Police arrested and charged a Baltimore City woman twice for DUI within twenty minutes. The accused in both incidents has been identified as Stephanie Ringgold, 33, of Baltimore City. Ringgold was charged twice with similar charges on Saturday, August 11, 2018.

In both incidents, she was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), driving under the influence (DUI), driving under the influence per se and several other traffic charges related to the traffic stops.

During the first traffic stop, Ringgold also had a 4-year-old, a 6-month-old and another adult passenger in the vehicle.  As a result, Ringgold was also charged with DUI while transporting a minor and DUI per se while transporting a minor. Both of these additional charges carry enhanced penalties.

Shortly after midnight on August 11, 2018, a trooper assigned to the JFK Highway Barrack was patrolling the area of Route 40 at Berk Lane when he observed a gray Dodge Charger exceeding the posted speed limit and passing a vehicle on the shoulder.  After stopping the vehicle, the trooper observed signs of impairment as he made contact with the driver, later identified as Ringgold.

Ringgold was subsequently arrested and transported to the Baltimore County Police Department, Essex Precinct, where she was processed and later released to a sober driver.

Less than twenty minutes later, the same trooper who arrested Ringgold was back on patrol when he observed her arrive back at her vehicle and get in the driver’s seat and drive away.  Having just advised Ringgold she was not allowed to drive for twelve hours, he initiated another traffic stop on the vehicle and again, observed signs of impairment.  Ringgold was subsequently arrested a second time, transported to the Baltimore County Police Department, Towson Precinct, where she was again processed and later released to a sober driver.

As a result of her second arrest, Ringgold was again charged with DWI, DUI and DUI per se.  She was also charged with driving a motor vehicle within 12 hours after a DUI arrest.  A court date for Ringgold has not been set at this time. A booking photo for Ringgold was not available.
