Beyoncé breaks record for most Grammy Award wins ever
At last night’s 2023 65th Annual Grammy Awards, singer, songwriter, dancer, Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter broke the record for the most Grammy Award wins in history. After winning the award for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album, Beyoncé became the all-time record holder for most Grammy wins ever. Before last night, George Solti was the previous record holder.
Beyoncé’s 2022 album, Renaissance, is being credited with helping push her into the record-breaking win column. And during the February 5 awards show, Beyoncé accepted her 32nd Grammy award.
“Thank you so much,” she said as she began her acceptance speech. “I’m trying not to be too emotional. I’m trying to just receive this night. I want to thank God for protecting me. Thank you, God.”
She continued, “I’d like to thank my Uncle Johnny, who’s not here. But he’s here in spirit. I’d like to thank my parents — my father, my mother, for loving me, and pushing me. I’d like to thank my beautiful husband, my beautiful three children who are at home watching.”
Beyoncé started the night out with with 28 awards, the most of any female artist, a feat she achieved during the 2021 ceremony, according to The Hollywood Reporter. And by the time the evening came to a close , she was the official Queen of the Grammys with her record-breaking wins
She entered the Grammys last night with nine nominations – the highest for anyone this year. She took away four awards from the evening – giving her a grand total of 32 Grammy Awards.
