Here’s one from the Ace News Today “Stupid Criminals” file, where a routine traffic stop on the evening of January 29 turned into a drug trafficking arrest – after deputies with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) discovered a substantial amount of a controlled substance and other drugs on a bicyclist.

“Thanks to alert deputies, harmful narcotics were removed from our community and this individual is back in our custody where she belongs,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said.
At about 8:15 p.m. deputies observed 44-year-old Divi Batista riding a bicycle without the necessary and rear red light as required by law. The alert deputies stopped her in the 1200 block of Carson Road in Immokalee to review that safety law with her.
During the stop, and per routine protocol, deputies asked Batista if she was in possession of any drugs.
She responded by reaching into her shoulder bag and pulling out a used crack pipe with residue on it. Deputies conducted a probable cause search and found meth, cocaine, crack cocaine, and a trafficking amount (8.1 grams) of hydrocodone inside the bag.
Batista was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance (hydrocodone), possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, and possession of crack cocaine.
Making matters worse for the bicycle riding drug dealer, at the time of her arrest on January 29, Batista was out on bond on unrelated charges.
