Bladensburg cop arrested on multiple charges of sexually abusing minor relative
LoQune Lee Brown, 34, of the 6400 block of Gilmore Street, Gwynn Oak, Maryland, was arrested on April 22 and charged with two counts of third-degree sex offense, two counts of sexual abuse of a minor and two counts of second-degree assault. Brown is a Corporal with the Bladensburg Police Department with no prior criminal record. The minor victim is a 12-year-old relative of the police officer.
Brown has served with the Prince George’s County department’s Community Action Team, for the past eight years. He was placed on administrative leave beginning March 9, after the Baltimore County Police advised Prince George’s County about their investigation. Brown will remain on suspension pending the outcome of his criminal proceedings.
Charging documents allege that the victim told authorities that Brown sexually assaulted her twice last year during family gatherings in the basement of his home in Gwynn Oak. She said that the first incident involved him groping her chest last summer, and the second incident involved him making her touch his penis in November. His charges include third degree sexual offenses, sexual abuse of a minor household or family member, and second-degree assault.
An investigation by Baltimore County detectives revealed that between July and November 2020, Brown sexually assaulted the young girl at his home on two separate occasions. Brown turned himself into Baltimore County Police officers on Thursday after a warrant was issued for his arrest on April 19.
The incident under investigation occurred while Brown was off-duty, outside of Bladensburg’s jurisdiction, and did not involve any residents of Bladensburg, according to the Bladensburg PD.
“The allegation is extremely disturbing for our Department and our community,” Bladensburg Police Chief Tyrone Collington Sr. said in a statement.

The criminal investigation into the incident is being led by the Baltimore County Police Department.
