Body found in Okeechobee

On August 7, the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office announced that detectives were working on a death investigation in the 800 block of U.S. 441 SE. Deputies were called to the area around 9 a.m. on Sunday morning after a concerned citizen – a resident from the area – discovered a body.
Sheriff Noel E. Stephen’s office said that as this is an ongoing investigation, the Sheriff’s Office would only be releasing information as the investigation allows.
