Bogus baby photographer arrested in plot to drug a woman and steal her newborn baby
In a bizarre Valentine’s Day news headline that could have been ripped from the pages of a script from a Hollywood movie, police in Pierce County, Washington, arrested a 38-year-old woman, Juliette Parker, and her 16-year-old daughter – after the two reportedly posed as photographers and drugged a woman in a scheme to steal that woman’s newborn baby. The arrests went down on February 14 around 2 p.m. at the bogus photographer’s home near Spanaway, Washington.

According to police reports, on the evening of February 5, the adult female victim called 911 to request medical aid when she suddenly began feeling numbness, drowsiness, instability on her feet and was vomiting. The victim told firefighters that she believed that she had been drugged.
After seeking further treatment at a hospital, the victim contacted the Sheriff’s Department to file a police report. The victim told deputies that she believed she was drugged by a woman who had come to her house posing as a photographer. The victim reported that she had met the suspect through a post on a newborn baby group on Facebook, where the suspect had advertised free photos of newborn babies so the suspect could build her portfolio.
The suspect reportedly came to the victim’s residence on three occasions to photograph her newborn baby. The suspect was observed taking cell phone selfies with the victim’s baby and was seen wiping her fingerprints off items she touched inside the victim’s home.
During the third visit to the victim’s home, the suspect and the suspect’s teenage daughter gave the victim a cupcake to eat; the victim reported feeling numb and drowsy immediately after eating the cupcake. The victim told the suspect and her daughter to leave her home. After they left, the victim noticed that the suspect had stolen her house keys.
Detectives with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department conducted multiple interviews and obtained several search warrants. Their investigation identified additional victims and garnered evidence that indicated that the suspect was planning to steal a newborn baby to raise as her own.
“When the whole thing unraveled her house keys were missing, she [the victim] remembers her wiping prints down in the kitchen,” sheriff’s Det. Ed Troyer told NBC affiliate KING in Seattle.
“We were able to find through search warrants and communication through social media and texts a plot we put together that obviously shows she was attempting to find an infant to take out of state and raise as her own.” ~ NBC News
Deputies also donated their time and purchased new locks and window guards for the victim and installed them at her home.
On February 14, deputies executed a warrant at the suspect’s residence in the 4100 block of 220th St. E. near Spanaway. The 38-year-old female suspect was arrested on multiple felony charges, as well as her 16-year-old daughter. Parker’s charges include attempted kidnapping and second-degree assault, according to MSN.
Last year, Parker ran for mayor of Colorado Springs, Colorado, according to KOAA. At the time, she had only been a resident of the city for two years.
“I love Colorado Springs, and I want to live here the rest of my life,” Parker said then, according to The Gazette. “I would like my kids to be able to live here and grow up here. I would like to have my grandkids be able to grow up here and live here and have their kids here.” ~ MSN
