As part of One Boston efforts taking place throughout the city and region, the Red Sox have organized volunteer efforts and donations that will take place today, Friday, April 12, and Sunday, April 14. Marathon weekend at Fenway Park is presented by John Hancock. The club will also mark the six-year anniversary of the 2013 Marathon tragedy in ceremonies preceding Monday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles at 11:05 a.m.

Three back-to-back Boston-area community events will take place today, Friday, April 12.

Infielder/Outfielder Brock Holt will join patients at the Jimmy Fund Clinic for a pizza and ice cream party from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. made possible by donations from Regina Pizzeria and Hood.

A number of current players are expected to participate in a luncheon for first responders at Fenway Park from noon to 1:30 p.m. The event will take place in R10 located on the Dell Technologies suite level (third floor).

On Sunday, April 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Red Sox alums Jake Peavy, Manny Delcarmen, and Lenny DiNardo will coach baseball clinics for children participating in the Red Sox Foundation’s RBI Program at Peters Park in the South End, located at 1277 Washington Street in Boston.

The Red Sox will commemorate the six-year anniversary of the 2013 Marathon tragedy on Patriots Day preceding the 11:05 a.m. game against the Baltimore Orioles. A moment of silence will be observed before the game to pay respect to those who lost their lives and were injured during the 2013 Boston Marathon. In keeping with a tradition that began on April 20, 2013, players will wear home jerseys featuring “Boston” on the front.

In the middle of the 4th inning, the club’s Hats Off to Heroes, presented by John Hancock, will pay tribute to two men from Boston Emergency Medical Services (EMS) who were posted near the finish line on Boylston Street during the 2013 Boston Marathon who were both awarded the Medal of Honor for their heroic actions.

Emergency Medical Technician Christopher Holgate and Paramedic Randall Souza were among the first to provide life-saving care after they had been blown back from the blast of the first bomb. Both men initiated triage and treatment, and gave direction to bystanders assisting the injured.

Fenway Park gates open 1 ½ hours before Monday’s game. Patriots Day at Fenway Park is presented by Coca Cola. As always, and especially during Patriots Day weekend, the Red Sox encourage fans to take the T and Commuter Rail.
