
Broward detectives need help identifying, locating man who attacked and raped 81-year-old woman
(April 5, 2025) Yesterday, Florida’s Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) announced that detectives in their Special Victims Unit are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating a man who attacked and raped an 81-year-old woman in Lauderdale Lakes.
According to investigators, this heinous sexual assault went down at approximately 4:26 a.m. on Friday, April 4. That’s when BSO deputies responded to a sexual assault call near the intersection of Northwest 50th Avenue and Northwest 34th Street. When deputies arrived on scene, they met with the victim who stated that an unknown man threw her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.
During her violent ordeal, the woman yelled for help and two individuals in the area ran her location to investigate. Those two individuals told detectives that when they arrived at the location, they observed the unknown male on top of the victim. Detectives say the subject then fled the area.
During the course of their investigation, detectives located images of the subject and have released those images (depicted belown) in hopes of identifying and locating the attacker. The subject is believed to be a homeless and unhoused individual.
