Calif. man uses garage door opener to break into home and rape sleeping 8-year-old
Police say that Noah Holland, 21, of Santa Rosa, California, was arrested on January 4 after breaking into a home in Rohnert Park and raping an eight-year-old sleeping girl. Holland has been charged with burglary, sexual assault and more. The break-in and rape occurred early in the morning at approximately 3:50 a.m. on January 4, according to police reports shared by ABC News. Police said that Holland:
“… broke into the home, stripped naked, and climbed on top of the sleeping child in her bedroom. Her mother heard her daughter’s screams, when she went into the bedroom the suspect was gone but evidence was left behind,” said Commander Aaron Johnson from the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety.
Johnson added that the intruder fled the scene, but left all his clothes behind. Police did not go into detail as to what other evidence besides his clothes that the suspect left at the Rohnert Park home; but it was enough to lead investigators to Holland’s home to make the arrest.
KRON 4 reported the family as saying that they did not know Holland. Officials say that Holland and an accomplice identified as Tristan Ford, 18, gained access to the girl’s house by using a garage door opener that they found in an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway at the home. Police say that Ford was also arrested but played no active role in the sexual assault, just the burglary.
The Press Democrat reports that following their arrests, Holland was booked into the Sonoma County Jail and charged with suspicion of burglary, lewd and lascivious acts with a child, committing sexual assault while in the commission of a burglary, vehicle tampering and violation of probation. Ford is charged with suspicion of conspiracy, burglary and violation of probation.
