Carrie Fisher’s autopsy revealed a cocktail of illegal drugs in her system
Although the beloved “Star Wars” actress Carrie Fisher’s autopsy lists her December 27, 2016 cause of death as being attributed to sleep apnea, additional autopsy results describes Fisher as having a drug cocktail found in her system that included cocaine, methadone, heroin and ecstasy. That autopsy report was released on June 19 according to “Variety.”
Additionally, Fisher was also taking a host of legal prescription drugs including Prozac, Abilify and Lamictal and was also taking oxycodone for which she had no legal prescription.
Fisher was 60 years old when she passed away following a cardiac episode that took place while she was in flight from London to Los Angeles. By the time her plane landed, the actress was unresponsive.
Fans first fell in love with Fisher’s interpretation of “Star Wars” Princess Leia in 1977. She continued acting through the 1980s, had a well-publicized history of drug use through the 1990s and went public with her diagnosis of bipolar disorder. In recent years, she was a public speaker and spoke freely about her problems with addiction and being bipolar.
Fisher’s famous mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, passed away after suffering a severe stroke on December 28, 2016 immediately after her daughter’s death.
Fisher and Reynolds are both buried at Forest Lawn cemetery in Los Angeles.
