A hit-and-run crash on North Rolling Road in Catonsville, Maryland, last night killed a child and critically injured a pregnant woman.

Police responded around 9:21 p.m. when the suspect vehicle, traveling southbound on North Rolling Road, struck both pedestrians as they crossed North Rolling Road at Johnnycake Road in an easterly direction. The suspect vehicle made no attempt to stop but continued fleeing in a southerly direction on North Rolling Road.

“The driver made no attempt to stop,” said Officer Jennifer Peach, with Baltimore Co. Police. “We would strongly suggest this driver turn themselves in right now before we have to come find them. That’s the best case scenario at this point.” ~ Fox News Baltimore

The woman, 32, was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening wounds but is in stable condition this morning. The condition of her pregnancy is currently unknown.

The child, a 12-year-old girl identified as Maria Popal, was transported to Sinai Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The suspect vehicle has not yet been located.

It has been described as an older model, possibly 1990-1991, Honda Accord that may be a darker colored vehicle. The Honda Accord should have damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle.

Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any information regarding this crash to contact police by calling 410-307-2020.
